read, eat, watch, wear

The last time I posted a similar list it was really popular, so I figured I would do a February version. This is a small collection of the things I love to do at the moment, what I'm reading, what I in particular love to eat at the moment, what we watch after the kids are tucked in and what I love to wear.

The past month all I've been reading are recommendations and reviews of places to go and places to stay for our vacation in March. That sort of reading always starts out being really exciting but after planning the trip for weeks it's actually quite frustrating. But... I finally booked all flights and accommodations and I am getting to the fun part, like planning what to read (and buying the kids a new summer wardrobe).

Since the Fall I've been wanting to read 'A little Life' by Hanya Yanagihara (In Danish: 'Et lille liv') but in between exams and every day life with small children, I haven't had the chance. The story is about a deep love and friendship. From reviews I can read it's supposed to be very moving and very well written. Can't wait to read all 700 pages!

At the moment I'm really trying to lay of sweets, especially in the evening. I found out that spearmint is really good for my sweet tooth, and it tastes good on almost anything. My favorite is watermelon with a few chopped spearmint leaves on top. Or on top of a sliced blood orange. During the day I drink ice cold water with lemon and spearmint.

We just finished watching West World on HBO - which is really good! But actually - for the Danish readers mostly - I want to recommend 'OJ Simpson - Made in America'. I watched it last year. Twice! It is a seven-and-half-hour documentary in five parts about the OJ Simpson murder case from the 90's. I think it's an insightful masterwork and incredible storytelling. Danish readers will be able to watch it on dr.dk - the five episodes are already available but only for a short time. Go watch it (here)! I promise you - it's THAT good!
